PROJECT OVERVIEW
Early budgets for this project showed the project trending over the school’s budget. Klinger worked with the architect to remove about 16” per floor from the 2-story design to save $244,000. We accomplished this by reducing space between the ceiling and the structure and utilizing 3D BIM software to proactively plan all ductwork, pipes, and other above-ceiling items to ensure there was room to accommodate the adjustment.
The project involved hypersensitive strategic planning to prevent unnecessary noise, heavy-duty truck traffic, etc., planned and scheduled over summer and school breaks to eliminate potential hazards for students.
Our solution allowed for substantial savings with zero impact on the learning environment.
